Harvey...it's likely you had a shad die-off and just didn't know it. Restock next spring, when temps rise, and you have a good bloom. If you have algae this winter, it will come and go. But, pond dye could be helpful during cooler months. Once temps rise above 60, consistently, plan to evaluate and possibly fertilize, before shad stocking.
