How many pounds of granular fertilizer does it take to egual 1 gallon of liquid fertilizer? For example, I have an 8 acre pond that needs 1 gal per acre of 10-40-0 liquid, but it is far more convenient to use granular. I don't know the conversion ratio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming 1 gallon of 10-40-0 liquid fertilizer weighs approximately 11.5 lbs, then it would contain 1.15 lbs of Nitrogen (10%), 4.6 lbs of Phosphorus (40%) and 0 lbs of Potash.
It would take 7.66 lbs of a 12-61-0 water-soluble powdered fertilizer (4.6 lbs divided by 0.61) to provide an equivalent amount of Phosphorus; which would also yield .92 lbs of Nitrogen (7.66 x .12)
