We just finished having another pond built close to our house. It is around 1/4 acre and when full should be around 17 feet deep. We have installed aeration and waiting on rain. There is a small spring that is feeding it but it will take rain to fill it. Planning on raising some bluegill, bass, and channel cats. Our other pond had filled in and the expense of reclaiming it was way to much. How many feet of water should there be before stocking? Thanks... I have subscribed.

I'd stock the forage fish (FHM and maybe GSH) this fall when you have a couple of feet of water. Let them grow and reproduce before stocking the other fish. Wait until later on in the Spring to stock the other fish at the earliest.
