http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/54407/will-texas-be-the-next-target.asp Maybe some of you Texans that haven't seen much rain lately, could be in for some relief???

Same in north Texas. My pond was drained so it could be completed and it hasn't rained since...life is so unfair sometimes. Relief is in sight though.

We can hope CJ. I think it'll take a week of good soaking rain to do any good but anyhting will help. There is a new fire blazing in central texas right noe. It went from 3000 acres to 7500 in about 1 1/2 hours last night. Come on RAIN!!

It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance?

Keep an eye on that storm brewing, it certainly could be the spark that changes the weather patterning bringing much needed rain and then a possible weather pattern change...

We HAD 30 and 40% for this coming weekend. However, they took it out of the forecast.

We are at around 65 days of triple digit heat. No rain fell in the D/FW area during July and we got a small amount a couple of days ago. The long range forecast is no rain until October.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Dave, sounds similar to here. We have had the same amount of 100+ days. OKC has had more rains but it wasn't rained other than sprinkles where I am from.

I hate to be Debbie downer, but I am not buying any weatherperson's predictions right now. I'm praying for rain but I ain't believing it until I am soakin wet. You can tell I haven't seen it in a while.

Yeah it's been hot, hot here too but we have had some rain at least. Man we flew over Texas last week going to Houston in a small jet plane and it looked horrific!! Lakes were ponds and ponds were mud puddles if that!!! Here's to some much needed rain for you guys!!! I hope ya'll get it soon!!! If there ever was a time to drain your pond and work on it this would have been the year for Texas pond owners to do so!

The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!

Huge amounts of real estate are now going up in smoke. No relief in sight.

1"-3" more in the forecast for tonight... This is ridiculous! Why can't we send some of this to TX?

My rain gauge overdosed at 6-inches sometime yesterday. It is too soggy and muddy to go out and dump it.

The great thing is that the pond went from about 18 inches below full-pool to about a foot over full pool in about two days, but we've not had any significant erosion or flooding. All of my small settling/frog ponds are full again.

It sure was foggy coming home from Winchester tonight, and the local news station is still calling for a lot more -- at least down where CJBS is at. As he said, I sure wish we could share this with our parched friends.

It'll finally rain again but , unfortunately, certainly could get worse before it gets better. After all, parts of Texas were also a part of the dust bowl of the 1930s. Also, Texas had a worse-than-now ten year drought in the 1940s and 50s. So very sad that this happens to such fine people.

The weather goes in cycles. We just happen to be in an extremely dry pattern.

Just saw a report that La Nina was forming again and now they predict this drought will go into 2012. I have had 3 inches of rain here on the Rockin M since last October. 3 inches a year isn't enough to keep a pond going. I am trying to a get a plan to get as many fish out as I can within the next several weeks. My neighbor has a well running into his pond and said I can move them over there.

In Dog Beers, I've had one.

That's what we fear. It may spring time before it rains.
