Both ponds are 10 acres. We did dig some deeper holes in the shallower of the two ponds, but them drying is not a normal occurrence. We are just in a very bad drought combined with the sandy soil in the area not holding water real well.
I had caught many 3 to 4 pound bass, and even one at 7-1/2 in the couple of years prior to the drought. And the ponds have never been stocked, except my mother nature. The river during flood stage can get into the ponds, but it hasn't done it since I bought the place in 2005. I am sure it will eventually restock itself, but I don't want to wait that long.
