Cody, that's a new one for me. How deep was the water where it was caught?

Sometimes it happens when you get old. Looks like a prolapse to me. Maybe had something in it that was hard to pass? I jest but am serious.Maybe it needs a bearing retainer? That is a medical term lol.
Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer.

Some of the channels and blues that I have caught up in Arkansas looked like that when they had been eating a lot of mussels. Are there any mussels in the pond?

I can't say for sure. I just bought the lake last month but I have not seen any. The pond is 6acres formerly owned by a doctor that built it in the early 80s. He spent a lot of money stocking it. Every fish I have caught so far has been very large for PA standars.

yeah this happens to catfish alot specially ones that eat alot.judgeing by the belly on that fish it has been eating very well so nothing to worry about he can still survive and do fine.Chris is right though most of the time it does come from eating hard stuff like snails or mussels.

You sure that's not a BH? Looks awful brown to me. Maybe it's just the light angle.

I thought the same thing... but its tail was very forked. The water is very murkey where I caught him. The bass are off color too.
