This is my first summer with a pond and I'm curious about how much water loss I should expect here in the Midwest. Reason why I asked is that I'm not convinced that I'm not losing some through groundwater. I have a deep ditch and the the side closest to the pond (30 ft distance) is showing some wetness and small amount of water flowing in the bottom of the ditch. Odds are some of it is coming from the pond.
Any way you can see the water level when it is full (grass line) and the dirt is black is where the water was around July 4th, and now you see where it is now. My guess is has went down around 2ft , if not slightly more.
Thoughts?
