I bet if you buy all your fish from that farm you can talk them out of there 100 fish minimum on the HSB. It would be worth it, you'll love HSB!

Sounds like the fish supplier is buying them elsewhere.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Yes, he is buying them elsewhere. Our wildlife department stocks more of them than almost any other state. Wish I could get some from one of our state hatcheries, but I don't think that's possible.

You can get them in less than 100s. I have several times. Several people here can get them for you. You may be able to get some samll ones 4 inch by FedX in O2 bags.

I will do some checking around on the HSB. With regard to HBG, do you guys see any advantage of a coppernose x greenie vs a native x greenie?

I am not sure there has been enough studies done to document the difference between the two to really say if there is a distinct difference...

Just curious Aaron, Have you located a source that specifically advertises their HBG as a cross between CNBG and GSF?

I would be interested in hearing the particulars on such a fish, as far as growth rates, size potential, temperature tolerance, viability of future generations, etc.

I can't imagine that there would be much difference when compared to the HBG created from a northern strain BG, but I'm always open to learning something new!

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

Yes. A Guy here in OK. He wasn't sure of advantages. He was going to have some ready next spring. I think it was something he was experimenting with.
