got some good info from the catfish show just got back from on the thrive product I sold last year. I will let you and other folks know what is up when I know. I'm not sure if I should talk about it on a public forum until I talk to producers.

Folks for your information here is what I know. Mossy Oak's Biologic division is about to launch ads on their pond fertilizer. They bought out "Thrive" but have reformulated and added micronutrient package. The price is going to be higher than last year. I may or may not be a distributor. I'm looking at other options due to price increase. Although I'm a little upset about price, the interest shown in pond fertilizers the last couple of years seems to indicate what we all know that pond management is becoming more popular.

Greg, Any news on fertilizer yet? By the way I added 10 tons of Ag lime the week before Christmas. I checked the alkalinity with the Cole Palmer Alkalinity tester that this site reccomended. It is easy to use. Just recd it today and checked a sample of water that I collected prior to the lime 6 weeks ago it was 17ppm and today 6 weeks after application it was 27. I am going to check it in a couple more weeks to see if it continues to rise. Please advise on fertilizer when you can.Water temp 52 so still have a ways to go. Oh yea Midland Ga is right outside Columbus. Any idea if you are going to be in the area?

Greg, My water hit 60 today. I am sure we will have a little more cool weater but I am with in a week or two of needing fertilizer. Have you determined what you are going to carry? Also I added my lime the week of Christmas 4 tons/acre or a total of 10 tons to my 2.5 acre lake. I am concerned with all the rain in Georgia that I may not get the alkalinity above 20ppm. Currently it is about 21ppm after adding it 10 weeks ago. Have I seen the full effect of the lime or should I expect it to continue to rise over the next several weeks? I had poor results last year with my fertilization program due to alkalinity less than 20ppm coupled with using the old 20-20-5 fertilizer. I am hoping for better results this year with the 10 tons and your fertilizer.
Thanks, Jake
