esshup, You are probably correct but can't figure out why I previously had a FA problem but now this. If indeed it is a form of algae. This is much easier to work with because it doesn't involve raking but not pretty to look at.
Also all the drainage coming into my pond from fields does filter thru tall grass and trees so I know much is deposited and absorbed before reaching my pond.
