Thanks for the link AD. I'm getting more and more interested in trying one out when we get our pond done. Looks like a fun and productive project. A few quick questions, I believe the benefits are isolating fish to both avoid predation and feed in solitary. Are there other advantages I'm not thinking of? Also, is there a problem when the water temps heat up and most of the fish would take to deeper water, but your caged fish are unable to do that?

I think 2 other advantages to cage culture were raising a species that you don't want free roaming in your pond, and increasing the odds of getting the fish feed trained.

I built a large pvc cage a few years ago but gave up on it after the bears damaged netting on top of it, they were probably after the pellets floating in the top.

If anyone wants a cage and your in driving distance the cage is free for the taking.

So what type of fish did you have in the cage and were you successful in what you were trying to accomplish?
