Got an e-mail from Dwight this evening. He went in to get his MN fishing license, and they are not available for sale because the Minnesota budget impasse has closed all services except a few. Funny how they could not leave the computer on that does all these transactions. Checked the MN DNR website, and they said licenses are not available, but all DNR rules and regs will be enforced. Apparently, conservation officers are "essential personnel".
Good morning Dave, I've checked the ships systems, and everything appears to be running normally.

Too bad he's got his own pond.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

What I am upset about is that hard working tax-paying people can't buy a fishing license when millions of our tax dollars are dumped into government payments for derelicts and drug addicts in our state every day.

AMEN! Will waste money on welfare for crack addicts but can't spend money on important things. At least when Virginia's computer system went down last year, not because of budget issues but because of technology issues, they suspended the enforcement of all related laws that were affected by people not being able to buy what they needed. Unbelievable they would still enforce the laws when people can't even buy a license. Hopefully the game wardens have enough common sense to use some discretion!
