I have one of the 30 gallon Feedcaster Pros and it has performed pretty well for me. I can't remember if it came with a solar panel or if I had to buy one as an option, but make sure to get a solar panel to recharge the battery. I like the fact that I can put quite a bit of feed in the barrel since I live an hour away from my lake and sometimes I will go a month between trips to the lake. I paid the full price of $150 and think it is worth that much. Certainly at the price for the reconditioned one, I would take a shot at it.
thanks for the info. i have exactly the same situation. any idea how much feed you are throwing each feeding? we have a 3/4 acre pond and would like to be able to go a month between refilling the feeder...
