I need some help identifying this weed. It is in areas adjacent to the perimeter of the pond in around 4' of water. It is rooted to the bottom. Navigate DID NOT kill it when I treated for milfoil 2 weeks ago. Here are two pics. I can post more if needed. Thanks for your assistance. Chara: a higher form of algae, completely unaffected by herbicides.
CUTRINE PLUS Granular is the best bet, but don't over-do the application - ie. kill too much at one time - since decaying algae is one of the quickest ways to crash DO.

You probably won't get comparable results with CUTRINE PLUS LIQUID as you would with CUTRINE PLUS GRANULAR - at least I haven't.

A fellow PB'er used the granular on FA and Chara. He had favorable results in less than a week. Now, 2 weeks later where the Chara was is now a big bare spot.
He used a hand held fertilizer spreader to spread the granular.

It's interesting to read this info regarding granular cutrine because I've had pretty consistent results on my chara with the cutrine plus. I realize it all part of the "it all depends" equation, but that's been my experience with chara.
Actually, on second thought, each time I've used Whitecap, I've also used cutrine plus, so maybe that's the reason for success. This year I'm having a tougher time getting rid of the FA after my Whitecap/cutrine plus treatment, though. But the chara appears to have been pretty well knocked out again.
