Anyone know of another feeder (other than the Sweeney) that will handle the 7/8" largemouth feed?

James do you have a guess as to what percentage of the LMB pellets are being eaten by LMB and how much by HSB ?

That's good to hear. I'm just looking at all the options before I drop a thousand on another feeder and was curious of any other options.

James of anyone else -

What has been your experience so far in feeding your largemouth bass?

What have seen in the relative weight (RW) change in your bass using feed compared without feed?

Worth the money for the results you are documenting?

Do you feed your bluegill also? And if so how do you know it is the feed your giving to the largemouth that is pushing the weight gain and not just more and healthy prey?

Thanks!

David:

I have just a few feed trained LMB in my pond. I tagged them using floy tags from Greg Grimes so I could tell the difference between them and the non-feed trained LMB. The feed trained LMB are between 10% and 30% heavier (relative weight) than the LMB that are not on pellets. I feed AM 500 and 600. I tried the AM largemouth, but they didn't eat it.

A friends pond also has feed trained LMB. Most of them seem to be staying on the feed, but a few are definately skinnier. He wants to manage for large BG, and since his LMB are getting over 15" now, we will be pulling the FT LMB out of his pond and re-stocking them into mine. He wants the LMB to concentrate on eating the BG, not the feed.

I'm feeding to get the BG bigger, but the LMB seem to be benefitting from it too, both the feed trained LMB and the non-FT LMB. This one was NOT a feed trained LMB, but it was a female that had eggs.
