I just started to see a film starting to form on my pond.We have had a few 80+ degree days now.Last year the pond got covered.I ordered some whitecap off of Greg grimes link.
We have alot of rain in the forecast ,but as soon as it stops I am gonna try and kill it.How long does it take the herbicide to work?I don't want it diluted to much from rain and overflow.I ordered an 8 oz bottle. How many treatments will I get for a 1/4 acre pond, average depth of 6'.....Thank you very much for any advice....Joe

bowjo, whitecap is supposed to be a one and done deal. You need to apply at the high rate for watermeal 90 ppb. Easy for me to do math at 8 ounces per acft. You got 1.5 acft so you really need 12 ounces of product. You can split the application half of total once rain stops and another half 2 weeks later. Apply evenely over the pond and dilute and pour in it degrades with UV.

If you need another 8 ounces we got it ready to go. GL.

Thank you Greg. That makes things alot easier to figure.I need to do a little measuring to figure my area a little closer.
Does the Whitecap have a shelf life or expiration date?
Thanks again ....Joe

bowjo...I was told by Sepro, the makers of Sonar, that an opened container has a shelf life of 8 years if stored properly. I would assume Whitecap would be similar but you could always contact the company to find out for sure. I have used a container that was opened 4 years prior and everything worked well. A FasTest confirmed the concentration.
