Does Copper Sulfate crystals have any adverse contact effect on spawning BG, RES or LMB? Eggs or fry? After applying, the milky green haze was probably infiltrating some beds, not to mention a few crystals.

Yes and no Back many years ago they used copper sulfate to eradicate rough or trash fish populations so it is toxic to fish at high ppm amounts.
If you applied it in the correct amounts you should be fine. You said some of the crystals infiltrated the beds. It may have some adverse affects on the eggs but don't worry BG spawn multiple times during the year. Next time you want to use a copper sulifate try cutrine plus its a liquid it may work better for ya.

You might be able to corner the market on three-eyed bluegill.

Blain CUSO4 can be a problem. What is your alkalinity ? In low alkalinity (acid) water CUSO4 acts to inhibit gill function and can kill BG quickly. I re-learned that the hard way once. It should be diluted in water and be applied or put in a sack and dragged through the water. Should not be just placed in the pond to fall and settle on the bottom.

Ewest, I thought that the whole idea with the crystals was to let it sink so that the algae on the bottom gets a dose to limit growth before it rises to the surface. Wow! I learn something everyday. Feel a little silly if I have been applying it incorrectly. Have'nt checked my Ph lately but will.
Midsouth, I sometimes use liquid for the floating mats but wanted to get to the source on the bottom this time.
Apparently I need education. When to use crystals and when to use liquid?
