That's a fox snake. Harmless, but like to imitate rattlesnakes when threatened.
Thanks! We found it in the yard and got it to coil up. As I walked around the snake it would turn its head and follow me. Interesting markings on top of the head.
In the end we let it go and and allow th circle of life to continue.
