Our RES will eat a few pellets off the bottom or from a suspended platform with sinking pellets. Nowhere near as well as BG though. It is very hard to find larger RES from a hatchery as they don't try to feed train them. As Bill notes its not easy to feed train them . They have to be trained in crowded conditiond (like an RAS) early or let them learn on their own. In that case only a small % will catch on.
