RES will not eat CC pellets; too low of protein at 32%. NOt enough meat-fish flavor in CC pellets. RES are essentially meat eaters (snails, mollusks). RES are not good at accepting pellets even high protein ones, of 40%+. It takes lots of careful, thoughtful, effort and patience to get RES "on food". Theo Gallus tells how he trained 26 redear sunfish in his basement aquaculture system to eat fish pellets.
