No, not flying unfortunately. We sold the plane just a few weeks ago, so I'm relegated to living like the other half and making the trip by car!  I'm trying to figure out the route myself, and was looking at the path Google maps laid out for me. It was the route through Louisville and St. Louis, but seeing your post makes me think that another direction might be better. I'm planning to leave Wednesday some time and drive till fairly late then grab a hotel along the way and finish up Thursday. Thoughts on travel plans?

Anybody coming from Texas needs to be careful on I40 from Eufala to Fort Smith. It's always under construction with lot of speed limit issues. And, lots of OK State Troopers that are really concerned about "public safety".
Lusk warned me about it last time and I probably saw 6 or 7 patrol cars working the road.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done.

Todd -- sorry to hear you don't have the plane anymore. When you get to this side of the mountain, I've got lots of friends with interesting planes. As for the route -- I-79 to I-64 is supposed to be slightly shorter and somewhat faster, but it sure doesn't seem that way. Starting at Huntington, you have to go through a lot of congestion. It doesn't seem to get any better through the cities in Kentucky. I-70 seems to have much better by-passes around the big cities in Ohio and Indianapolis. From our experience, no matter what the GPS or Google says, it seems to be an hour shorter going I-70 vs., I-79/I-64 to St. Louis. But, then again, you are south of Morgantown, and we will be passing just to the north. It may not make much difference for you. See you there.

Ken, I forgot you are South of me. I went East on I-80 to get to Manassas last year. The Southern route goes thru better zip codes.

See you there. I can actually hit 70 by going straight over to Parkersburg and then up 77 for about half an hour, so it's not so bad. Going north to Washington, PA, to catch it and then across would be way out of the way. According to Google maps and Mapquest, that only adds about 15 minutes to the total drive, which is a little hard to imagine, but if you guys have seen a consistent one hour time savings, that's worth trying. Besides, I dislike Marshall University intensely enough that skipping a trip through Huntington would make it all worthwhile!

I just looked at the weather for Branson. The Northern guys will feel warm, while the southern guys will be freezing. The fishing tourney will be interesting, post cold front.

Monday morning up at 2 am and headed to fish hatchery. Met Rainman and as always with Rex we loaded fish onto trucks in the rain. Delivered fish til 10 pm and then got up this morning at 4 am and loaded rest of fish onto my truck and delivered until 1 pm. Then office work until right now. I havent showered or even brushed my teeth since Sunday evening when I went to bed at 11 pm. Im still in the same nasty, stinky fish slimed muddy clothes and now I am headed to shower and to bed cause at 4 am in the morning I am headed to Branson Baby! I got my 36 hrs of work this week packed into just two days so at 1 pm tomorrow I will be playing (or laying) at the pool with my kids!!

I do know that I'm buying more than I did for PBIII. I'm still scarred by encountering Shawn Banks with a 12-pack of Keystone Light at 2AM. Can't let that happen again.
