10 Days and a wake up to go till Pond Boss Conference IV. The truck has been checked over got the GPS programed and the bags are packed.

I just got back in town, and the car developed a squeak in the front suspension. It's going in Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The next few days will be really, really busy!

I'll be doing that too, the painter will not like me. It'll be in the shop getting some rust touched up and rock chips taken care of next month. VW won't warranty it unless it's rusted thru and I won't let it get that far!

I don't pack until right before a trip, or the night before if I have to get up real early. As long as you have some underwear and a toothbrush, you can pretty much accomplish anything.

I don't pack until right before a trip, or the night before if I have to get up real early. As long as you have some CLEAN underwear and a toothbrush, you can pretty much accomplish anything. But, you are preparing in your mind, Right!

Blaine, were you able to arrange a ride from the airport? We'll have a full car load on the way down, but if need be I could run back out that way to pick you up. Or anyone else for that matter (guess I should check to see how far it is before I make any promises.  ).

Funny you should mention! I was just getting ready to post an iquiry before I commit to renting a car for four days. My flight arrives in Springfield at 9:37 PM on Wednesday night. I fly out on Sunday at 1:55PM. If anybody is in the area and has room or wants to share a rental car then call me (317)432-3595 cell.

I arrive in Branson Airport at 11 AM on Thursday and am renting a car, so if anyone needs a lift to Big Cedar, let me know.
On Sunday, I'm flying out of Branson at 11:36 AM, so if anyone needs a ride, I'll leave the resort by 9:45AM.

Lynda and I will be leaving early tomorrow morning (Tuesday). We hope to get to around the Indiana/Illinois border before we quit driving tomorrow evening. We hope to be at Big Cedar Lodge sometime late afternoon Wednesday. We need to leave shortly after lunch on Saturday to make it for dinner in Oklahoma that evening.

Ken, you going to be coming across on I-80 and then scooting down I-57 in Illinois? I'll be taking 80/94 to 80 to 57 Wed morning myself.
If looking for a place to stay for the night, I'd look for a place either East of Portage, IN or I'd wait until I was on I-57. That is unless you know of a good place to stay between those areas. There are a number of pretty rough areas along the highway between those 2 points.

This time I think we'll take I-70 across to St. Louis. It always seems to be faster going around places like Columbus, Dayton, and Indianapolis, as compared to going through/around Huntington, Lexington, and Louisville. The difference in the routes from our place to St. Louis via either route is less than about 15 miles. Tomorrow night, we figure we'll make it past Indianapolis, but not as far as St. Louis. We've made the trek a lot of times, and have had pretty good luck with chain motels along I-70. See you all there! Todd -- are you flying?
