Thanks Scott, and everyone. I just had that little Moral dilemma in my mind. The family is so broken up, and their grandmother has not the resources to keep it going.

I'll be looking into an acquisition this week and see what happens.

Hadn't heard about that.

The job with state park fell through. The director said that he had to hire someone immediately and I didn't qualify since I hadn't graduated yet. He said that I would have done a good job and would keep me in mind if anything else came open.

Maybe time to look into South Dakota like Dr. Willis suggested? A summer position is better than nothing.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Why not consider it, JKB? I agree with the other comments and would also toss into the ring the fact that, if you buy it, that is $114K less that these folks are going to be on the hook for with their bank (barring a bankruptcy on their part). It puts them in better standing with one less major financial burden on their backs and gives the house to someone who's a good person. Of course, then you have to worry about what kind of clown is going to buy your place and move in next door . . .

JKB, I agree that you should not let the fact that you know these people stop you from taking a great deal if you want it.

Could you keep 'em both? maybe rent the current one out. It'd give you more land and more control over your neighbors.

The property I own next to this house is somewhat vacant as I am developing it. No house as of yet. I still have to do the electrical and plumbing drawings for the house I want to build.

My Nephew, Brother and Sister are also looking at this property.

One of us should get it, or hope to get it.

Just have to see how things go. Like in ponds, It all depends!

Hey Chris,

I have been praying for a job that fits you. Sounds like it is your expertise.

Go get em, is what I say!

BTW: sorry to hijack your thread earlier.

This thread has been an excellent example of parallel plots something I've been reading about as I keep studying how to write a novel. grin

More than luck -- I'm sure everybody who knows you from PB, would be more than glad to act as references -- if you dare accept such a challenge!

Good Luck,
Ken

P.S. Knowing you, I don't think you'd be afraid to ask for references from most of us -- even those who know you well. Please don't be afraid to ask any of us for assistance.

I am meeting the owner tomorrow. I decided it was better to get down there as soon as I could rather than wait until the weekend after the conference.

You're coming this way tomorrow? Guess we'll pass each other going in opposite directions. I plan to be somewhere around Texarkana, if not in Arkansas, by tomorrow evening.
Tell "him" I said howdy.

How did that go Chris? Again, Congratulations on your Graduation.

One more Hijack!

I just got my gas card today from my new job. Rules are; to and from work, and while at work, use discretion for personal use.

In about two weeks my Insurances kick in.

Supposed to get a raise in about two weeks also.

The gas card was a total surprise!

Anyway, I got a messed up factory to fix, that makes a product y'all see everyday. They are still making product that turns out. Just that it has Band-Aid's all over the place.

This is going to take a long time! A couple years I expect.

It would be really nice if they changed the filters in the ventilation system, or, at least, Turned It ON!
