In my suberb there is a retention pond where all the runoff water goes. The pond is 100",By 80" feet in diamiter. Its aboat 6 feet deep in the middle and slowly rises like a bowl to the shore.
It also has small trees and bushes growing around it. Also it holds an extrodinary amount of fish speicies such as(Bass, Bluegills, Bullheads, Golden and Silver Shiners, Green sunfish, The size of my bass has been increasing they average out at about a pound a piece but some are 2 pounds, while others and equal to a half a pound or less. The gills are increasing in size as well and are about 6 to 7 inches long. Can you tell me if this is good or bad and is there any thing I can do to fix the problem.

JD, not sure you've given enough information to know if there's a problem or not.

How old are your bass?

What do you want from the pond? ie/ Huge bass; diversity, etc.

There are charts to determine if your bass are thin, normal, or overly fat. That's a start to see if the bass are doing well.

I'm no pro, but I think these are some of the questions that the pros would ask.

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:"
"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."
