I spend about a $100.00 per month pumping about 42 gpms 24/7 into my trout pond 7 months of the year. Well is rated for 45 gpms and is I believe 2 1/2 hp. Depth of well is about 80 feet and the well is a submersible suspended about halfway. Seems to me unless you are in experiencing a drought -- you shouldn't have to run a well to top it off -- if you have the right size watershed runoff around your pond.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
