I have narrowed my choices down to two different types of aerators for my pond Any one with expertise please weigh in.
1. 1/3 hp vertex air system from true green with 2 discs and 100 feet of weighted tubing and box to house the unit in
2. 1/5 hp system from Jones fish hatchery with 4 stone diffuser also comes with 100 ft of weighted tubing and box to house the unit in
Cost is almost the same-not enough to squable about-any suggestions? I am confident that this is the size I need for the pond so I dont want anything bigger
Thanks again for all the info you guys put out-it is great to hear what the experts think and those who have been through this stuff before

All joking aside, compare warranties, maintenance, quality... Ted with Forever Green is who I think you mean you would be purchasing the Vertex system from ~ he has been selling Vertex for a very long time and is a huge supporter of Pond Boss.

I can fairly confidently say that there is a considerable larger markup on the 1/5 hp system from Jones than there is on the 1/3 hp system from Forever Green. The end cost to you may be similar, but the quality of components you would receive is no comparison. Vertex equipment is by far the best value for your dollar.

After 26 years of use, I prefer membrane diffusers vs stone diffusers. Some stone diffusers are cheaply made and the connection tends to separate from the stone after several years. In my exerience stone diffusers require cleaning more frequently compared to membrane diffusers. To clean stone diffusers it requires muratic acid (hydrochloric acid) whereas membrane diffusers can be cleaned by scrubbing with soap and water. Replacement membranes are available if you ever need them. IMO you will get better systems and honest pond advice from Forever Green.

I've got a vertex system. Thanks nate. It's awesome. Takes away any worry from having any DO crashes.
