The short version:

Will herbacides harm the willow and poplar trees going at the edge of my pond???

The long version:

I am expecting that even with aeration, my 20+ year neglected pond is going to need aquatic herbacide to curb the submergent vegetation (coontail and others) and cat tails that take it over by mid summer.

I plan to use Sanco Industries Cat Plex for the Cat Tails and WeedPlex Pro for the submergent vegetation. My concern is that I have a large will and several poplar trees that grow at the edge of the water -- I'm guessing their roots are kept wet by the pond. Will the herbacides hurt the trees?
