Pond Boss Forums INTRO Questions & Observations 2011 Wish List

On the semi-narrowed down wish list: pavilion built onto our newly constructed (finished late last fall) storage building - want to do some septic so we can add a full bathroom on right next to the building as well as a kitchenette area, running water and electric in to the building/pavilion site, constructing a small deck with attached floating dock on the small pond so I have a great place to mount the new TH feeder I'm hoping to buy from GG in the next month or so, and construction of a very small (16 x 20 or so) cabin (though I may make it a little bigger and move the full bathroom concept from the pavilion to the cabin). Just some things to make the farm more useful as a true getaway until we eventually build. We'll see how much of this comes together, but those are the big plans. Always fun to dream!

Todd, the bathrooms are a LOT easier to use in the middle of winter if they are in the same building that you are sleeping and living in!

That's a good point! We weren't originally thinking of a cabin, so it made sense to consider putting one in our pavilion, but now that a small cabin has entered the discussion, I see no reason to have one at the pavilion as long as the cabin is reasonably close by. We still haven't settled on location for it, so that's a consideration. Thanks for that sage nugget of wisdom!

Todd, not wisdom, but experience. It takes a LOT of effort to get out of bed, put clothes on and walk 100+ feet in -30�F temps to the outhouse! You'd be amazed at how long you can hold it.
