I don't think it makes a lot of difference weather you place them perpendicular or horizontal to the shoreline - pros and cons each way. I would put them in so the upper most branches are underwater 12"-16" at full pool. Your YP should do well with CC and HSB as the main predators. It will be interesting to me to see if the BG and BC become overly abundant in 3-6 yrs.
