Short of it, they lived, ate algae, spawned a few times and died when the water got cold. They were about 15" long when they died.

Bairdello BG is the offspring that Cecil Baird has from some Bruce Condello BG's. Bruce grew them big and selected the biggest; fastest growing BG's for a number of years. They are round like dinner plates, even at a small size.

Sorry for butting in, but when they died, were you able to retrieve them for consumption before they went bad? Could you sane them, or set traps or something, or just really fish like mad to catch as many as you can to stock the freezer before they die?

I was focusing on deer hunting and didn't pay them much attention. I noticed them after they were dead for a while.....

I'd try to fish them out or seine them out in the Fall before the water gets too cold. Once the water cools down they get real sluggish.

I would definetly stock minnows such as fatheads and golden shiners. Trying to establish them later with predators in there can be tuff to do plus expensive as you would have to add more do to the predators. I agree with the other guy on getting some fry from anderson minnow farm. You might want to wait a year for the fry to get bigger before stocking the other fish. Also the fat head minnows that I stocked in my pond reproduced 2 or three times in one summer. They took over I mean took over but the bass ended up wipiing them all out.
