The storm and pile up of snow we were supposed to get yesterday blew south, and only got a slight dusting with average temperatures.

The new one coming in is supposed to go south of here also

Cecil, if you have to do anything outside, get it done tomorrow. The weather this evening said that the snow wouldn't be measured in inches, it'd be measured in feet. We're going to get hit with lake effect after the storm passes. Depending on which station you watched, the line of ice/snow was either right at Indy, or somewhere around Kokomo. The only predicted totals that I saw were 6" by Tuesday night, no estimate for Wed., and the storm isn't supposed to turn into lake effect snow until Thursday.

We get our share of your storm first...They're calling for up to an inch of ice here tomorrow followed by a few inches of snow.

I hate ice and someone stole my backup generator, while we were home, last month.

The cops think the thieves were a work crew that had been at a neighbors house the day before but couldn't prove it.


You guys may end up with a snow like the one we got stranded in at the Jersey shore last Christmas....38" in 12 hours! There is a Jeep Grand Cherokee under the mound to the left of the house...This is my BIL's place about a quarter mile from the ocean. Drifts were up to 15 feet high in some places.

Got up at 2:00 am came straight to work, put down a whole pallet of salt already.

Buddy never made a sound!!! Buddy bit a UPS driver, protecting Erin while I was in the hospital costing us 7 grand, barks at anyone walking in front of the house, but not that day! The gen set was taken at 6pm and the thieves loaded it in front of the neighbors 2 houses down from us that told me it was stolen. The neighbors didn't bother to get a license number or anything...they just waited till they left to call me.....they told the cop they were afraid I would shoot the thieves...well DUH!!!!! The Generator was 10 feet from our side door...the thieves had some big brass ones to get that close with people home at that time of day.

Wow with neighbors like that...

I'd be tempted to sit back with a cup of coffee and watch if their house ever catches fire (if they weren't in it).

This should bring up yours and Fritz's pond when it all melts eh? Have the ponds come up much yet? Mine has snow almost up to the pier now. If we do end up getting nailed like they say we are the pier will disappear under the snow!

I'm sure glad I have the diffusers running this winter! It will be a good year for fish suppliers!

Rex with all these home invasions happening we need more neighbors with heavy artillery.

About 5 years ago some kids driving by stopped at my neighbors house and grabbed his rifle out of his pickup, he saw them and got his pistol and chased them in his truck and forced them off the road and held them till the troopers got there. The kids were from a small city 35 miles south of us, I guess they weren't use to people protecting their property.

Cecil, I'm headed over to Friz's to take O2 and temp samples today. I'm concerned that I won't be able to do that after the storm because of the water on the ice. My pond is down 65" from last Spring. It's the lowest that it's been since I renovated it in 2008. His ponds are even lower than mine. We'd have to get completely buried in snow for it to help, usually 10" of snow = 1" of rain. I just only hope that we get a good rain storm quickly in the Spring before the ground thaws. If that happens, then the pond will fill up.

It's raining here.. Shrewsbury Mo I'll tell you now if this turns to ice or snow driving will be impossible and so will walking it's raining pretty hard..

I don't know about snow, but that front gets here tonight. Supposed to be 60 today and 16 tomorrow afternoon. We will see single digits here in parts of North Texas for the coldest temps seen in possibly 10 years. We are supposed to get freezing rain and then about 2" of sleet accumulation before the switch to snow. Talk about sorry driving conditions . In typical Texas weather style it will be sunny and 60 again on Sunday for the big game.

If we get the blowing they are calling for, the snow may blow into the low area created by your ponds. That would add a lot of water once it melts.

Now, they are saying that this snow event may be HISTORIC for our area. I doubt it!

Maybe lower west MI will get slammed!

But, you guys in IN and OH should take precautions!

I called off tomorrow.. "SICK". First sick day in almost 3 yrs..
