Here in Southwest MI I am having a hard time finding a rental sheepsfoot compactor for clay layers in the bottom of pond. Anyone have any suggestions for the Kalamazoo Battle Creek area. Is there an alternative to a sheepsfoot that will work?
It is not a huge area so could I get by with a jumping jack type compactor? Sorry if I should have put this in the soils area. Thanks all.

Jim: How big is the area? I'd give Steve or Dan a call at Wakarusa Equipment He might know of someone that is more local to you that has them. I've done a bit of business with them. If they ask, tell them Scott from Grovertown, Indiana sent you. I'm sure they could truck one up to you, but I don't know what the cost would be.

jim Yes, you can aclompish the same result with sheep, thumper or?
