I dont have any actual pictures right now of the site but i tried to make a sketch with paint just so someone might get the picture but i am a terrible artist. What i want to know is weather or not I can make a pond with this interesting idea. I think if it could work it would be pretty cool and unique. So first I just want to know if you think it is possible. Then if its practicle. I have put in some notes with the pictures to try to explain this idea. But baisicaly it is an old concrete structure that i believe was some sort of water station. It faces a medium sized creek with a 150 ft long trench that is 40-50ft high and 50 ft wide that sits in between the creek and the concrete building. I want to know if there is or what is the best way to turn this into a pond and since it is not very big how i can utilize the most water coverage. The trench is lined with several granite boulders on the sides and slopes slightly to the creek. The land also has alot of granite boulders about 5 ft under the ground. So digging more is possible but would be difficult.

Thanks! I have been reading these forums for awhile now and have got some real insight and great ideas for how to start a great pond (like what kind of fish to stock (bait fish and game)when to stock it, how many to stock of each, what to plant, what to get rid of, feeders, and tons of other do's and donts! This forum has inspired me to make a pond! This one is just kind of a starter pond to see how it works, a trial run if you will until i can eventualy make my "dream" pond. I think that i really do have everything worked out except the best way to make the pond itself. I dont have a lot of land to work with right now and thats why I would really like to make something out of this idea. It would surely be unique and some of the work is already done for me in a way ( it already has three sides up). Just want to know about how to finish the fourth side. I can send pictures of the spot but it would take me a few weeks. But if anyone had any insight now I would love to hear it. Thanks again and looking forward to whoever can help.
