Currently live in MN, but do have a lot on a river that leads out to the gulf in Florida.
Am trying to talk myself out of my plans to build a pond up here, and maybe sell the lot in FL and rather buy a track of land in FL instead and build a pond down there.
Now from what I gather, from reading the few posts there are on FL ponds, is 6 acres is pretty do able but after that it becomes difficult. Now given everything is flat and to get 6 acres you are going to need to dig a BIG hole anyways, that is most likely plenty. So is the above correct?
Also is 10 acres enough for a 6 acre pond?
The area I am thinking would be around Crystal River (hour north of Tampa), I like the oaks and vines, but still want it warm in the winter.
