Tim, congrats. The draw on the west boundry is near perfect, in terms of topography, with the possible exception of it being near the boundry of a neighbor. Where it bottlenecks is where your dam should go, for the most bang for the buck. It is exactly what you would look for as being ideal. Small dam, large impoundment. It looks like there is a descrepancy between the topos. I hope the white topo map is more accurate, as it keeps the whole pond/lake on your property.
Keep in mind, I'm just speaking from a topop standpoint. Soils or water flow may dictate another site. I hear mixed results w' the NRCS.
