yellow perch, smallmouth bass, and walleye Their customer service is great but I didn't think it would take this long to get the fish. I sure hope they don't go out of business Yellow Perch can't be gotten from the Great Lakes States due to disease this is from the KYDFW

That info on fish coming from Great Lakes states is incorrect...ANY fish from those states just need to pass the tests. If they can't ship out of state, they have either tested positive for pathogens or failed to get the tests done.

I can get them to you if you like.

KG4KBU,

I'll give a call tomorrow. If I don't get an answer, I'll set my son to getting info. Some of his in-laws are neighbors to Zetts. I was within a few miles of Zetts tonight, but schedule didn't permit stopping in.

We almost lost them at the top of the real estate boom a few years ago.

Hopefully all is well with them. They are a seriously good asset to the mid-Atlantic area. I've personally bought a lot of fish from them over the years.

Not any fish Rex. Just the ones on the list. I.e. brook trout and white crappies are not on the list. grin

Even though fatheads are required to be tested if they go out of state in a Great Lakes state strangely they are NOT on the list!

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Let USFWS know about that. Tilapia are not on the list AND there is no approved test since they are not carriers nor suceptible to the targeted pathogens, yet if they come from a great lakes state, they claim they need to be tested. I go through this every time I have to ship overseas for customs documentation.

Crazy isn't it?

I'm not allowed to bring trout in that test positive for IPN but my state DNR has planted IPN postive steelhead into Lake Michigan. They didn't want to destroy the fish and figured since the disease is already there... Apparently if you make the rules you can break them. frown

I just talked to Karen Zetts. They are alive, well, and selling fish. I've always picked my fish up directly from them, either in their boxes or in my tank. They've always provided me with excellent service. But, like all businesses, they've have some issues, some of which have been reported here. Before putting any fish in your pond, examine them carefully to make sure they are the correct kind of fish, or different kinds of fish that have snuck in from elsewhere.
