It has been 6 1/2 weeks since I applied Whitecap to a pond infested top to bottom with Southern Naiad. I mixed 24 oz with approx. 15 gallons of water in a tank sprayer. I ran the boat in zig-zag and criss-cross patterns over the .85 acre pond. Average depth is 3-4. I pushed the spray wand deep and extracted as I sprayed in what must have been 100 locations over the entire pond. Is it possible that adult Naiad plants have a tollerance to floridone? Have I not been patient enough? Anybody have an idea of where I might have gone wrong? Rapid dilution is definitely not the issue. Pond is low and there has been no measurable rain since the application.

It may be a patience issue, Blaine, as it has taken me well onto 2 months to finally see my watermeal just about eradicated, though not completely yet, following a dosage of Whitecap. Maybe naiad puts up a little longer fight, but again, my stuff has taken at least 2 months.

Blaine,
I wonder what the manufacturer would say if you contact them?
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Blaine, Here is the website for the manufacturer: http://www.phoenixenvcare.com/products/aquatics/whitecap_sc.html Craig Smith would be a good guy to talk to at their company. I have only seen a long delay like that in kill time for watermeal applications. Naiad should die much quicker. Can you post some pics of fresh weeds in the pond. Also try to post some pics of any other vegetation in or around the pond. Cattails and pondweed should show signs of deterioration by now if they are present. There almost has to be more to the story or more clues (observations). This is definitely not a normal situation.

Nate,
Does Whitecap have a shelf life? I know it's not the same but some of the products I use in taxidermy are worthless if they are on the shelf too long.
