While this is a sad condition I find myself amused by the regulations:
After an angler catches two striped bass over 22 inches, the angler must stop fishing for striped bass.
Ok, easy to understand. Catch 2 SB over 22 inches then stop fishing for them.
However, a licensed angler may catch two and net or hand grab three additional striped bass over 22 inches that are floating on the surface.
But wait there's more.... if you happen to see three more SB over 22 inches floating around well feel free to grab them as well.
Licensed anglers not fishing for striped bass may harvest five striped bass over 22 inches net or hand grab that are floating on the surface.
But if you're not fishing for SB well then feel free to net or hand grab 5 of them.
These regulations seem like they were written by the same folks that write Internal Revenue Code.
