Has anyone used their land and Pond to sponser a KFE?? (Kids Fishing Event) where a bunch of kids around the area fish in your pond and all. I know it seems counter productive in that a bunch of folk take all the money and time you spent but has anyone considered it? Maybe it just another form of Socialism or something I don't know just a thought... I might want to sponser one my self..maybe

We are fortunate to have some of the biggest hearted pondmeisters in our midst in the form of Eddie Walker (who sponsers events with church groups at his pond), Norm Kopecky (who sponsers fishing outings for folks with limited mobility...hope I presented that "PC"), and Nate Herman and his project to do exactly what you speak of...a kids fishing park.
There are others, and I hope that they speak up and are recognized for their efforts to "give back".

Socialism is when the government forces you to give away your wealth...

Charity is when you voluntarily give it away... Nothing wrong with being charitable! There are some very charitable people on this forum as Brettski mentioned. Opening up your pond for children, the disabled and other cause worthy groups is an admirable thing.

I sponsor two KFE's every year at my little pond. Our local (small town) school district started the program years ago, the kids and adult volunteers show up in a school bus and it's a mad dash to the pond. The thank you e-mails and pics from the kids are priceless. The only side is trying to keep up with all the Q&A about the pond and fish.

Hey, JWB, welcome to the Pond Boss Forum! Wonderful first post! (And did you guys notice that he included pics??!! Extra credit for this gent!)

That's a really nice looking pond. Why don't you post in the new members section of the forum and tell us more about yourself, your pond, and your management goals with your pond.

Congrats on the obviously successful events and thanks for sharing about them with us!
