Thank you both for the info. Cecil, you are correct that we do not get a lot of ice now in Central Ohio. When I was a kid we seemed to get more ice but not now. I probably would prefer a permanent dock but I am not sure where the final water level is going to be and it seems easier to go the floating route because it will adjust for water level.
