Truckloads of salt getting dispersed on a wet road get diluted and cover a very large area, and most of them go out the roadside storm drains eventually going back to sea. Those cup after cup after cup are going straight into that pond and accumulating. You can argue all you want about road salts are not cupfuls of salt pondside.
