After reading the thread, I wonder if stocking GSH at the same time that you stock the HSB would help at all? (Providing having GSH in your pond corresponds to your goals). Maybe having more new (and less expensive) disoriented fish in the pond would take some of the pressure off of the HSB? (or whatever was stocked, providing that you could stock the GSH before the "good" fish?)

I think GSH is a great recommendation, but I'd think about getting them adult size in the grow out pond? I think you can have 12-14" HSB in 18 months. You can get 1" YOY HSB for $.50/ea. Bruce was able to get his to 7-8" in five months

BTW I have plenty of GSH to share - get you started with 100 in the GO pond? Could also provide as many CSBG as you want, too. They are up to around 2-4"

If it were me I would put HSB behind a blocking net and pellet fee feed them for several months before turning them loose. Even a few days behind a blocking net would improve their chances.

It is not that bad. At the size you stocked I bet you have 25% or better survuval unless the water quality got them (low DO).

Sorry for the bad luck, I've had a lot of bad luck last year and this year so I feel your pain. I can Actually explain how you got your boat back, in nearly all boats they have foam in the benches that prevents in from completely sinking when its full of water. May want to add more foam were you can just in case it accidentally gets sunk, it would then float enough to swim it to shore.
