Well, hopefully the 3rd time is a charm. Last year I went from stone to a cement spillway, and apparently the frost heaved one side up enough to allow water to work underneath it. We ended up cutting a 2' wide section across the 20' wide spillway. We then dug a trench and poured a 4' wall, which is below the frost line. We then pumped concrete under the washed out part underneath. After that, we packed clay a foot up the new wall, then poured both sides of that. My contractor, Bill May from Atlanta, came back and made things right. It's nice in this day and age to come across someone as honest as him! Also, Fish & Wildlife provided a water control structure for the inlet side. I've got a 22 acre field upstream of the pond enrolled in the Parners For Fish and Wildlife Program.
