Is it the pond water that produces an undesirable taste in tilapia, or the algae and vegetation that the tilapia eat in the pond that is the problem?
Would a possible easy solution be to put a fish cage into the pond, catch a bunch of tilapia and toss them in, and just let them sit there without eating for a few days?
I know that tilapia are often low in omega-3 due to their diet, maybe they could be fed some kind of food enriched with desirable nutrients while in cages purging?
