I only use Tarter Sauce if the fish is too strong (fishy).

But then again I am sure there are different types of fishy.

I do not like mine to taste or smell like a boat dock or bait shop.

I have an account through my university, but even then it is just the abstract. A full copy does not appear to be available. That article is from 1991, we should be able to find some more recent ones. Maybe someone else could pull it up and post it in another thread. Looks like I hijacked this one (oops!).

Hijack away, I am enjoying the info, especially since I am a grassfed beef producer. Though we have over the years tweaked our product, and genetics, and our beef is anything but bland.

I apologize! I should have spent the time to come up with better examples rather than using my own taste preferences to illustrate a point. I did not mean to attack any product in particular, but by infusing my own bias into the topic I certainly did cast grassfed beef in a negative light. I just wanted to point out that factors such as feed composition can drastically alter the taste of a product, whether it be good or bad, which is in the eye of the beholder.

No offense taken. In fact I appreciate your observation, and grassfed beef can be a less than desirable product. It has taken me 10 years to consistently get it right. We needed the right cattle, the right grass, and the right processor. Grain feeding hides a lot of sins.
