I was born into a family with a serious shortage of names. To this day, I think I have at least 10 cousins or nephews who have one of two first names, and one of two middle names. Even in marriage, the names were the same, or nearly the same. My mother was Ila Marie, I had an aunt named Ida Marie, and my brother married a girl named Ina Marie. Mail order from Sears, Montgomery-Wards, and Penny's couldn't keep them straight. I don't know how many times my new sister-in-law got my much older aunt's non-sexy underwear.
Lynda and I planned names for a long time. We intentionally did not want to know boy or girl. We kept all our options secret. Nobody seemed too upset when we announced.
