I could see the paper drawing moisture out of the fish. Wetting the paper would eliminate that with a foodsaver... My concern was the dimpled side of foodsaver bags leaving the indentations on the trophy and simply using the paper as a cushion to avoid that problem...In the 10+ years I have owned Vac sealers. the seal is either good or bad when it is made...I have never had one fail later.
I have them pop loose all the time when if I move them around to look for particular ones in my sales of frozen commercial trophy fish to other taxidermists.
As far as the dimples I never shrink wrap an unfrozen fish. I freeze them solid first and then shrink wrap them. They're really only an issue if a taxidermist is going to mold the fish or the head anyway. For a full skin mount it's no big deal.
