Plenty of people use 100 lb. fluorocarbon leaders for trophy Musky. I didn't believe it either at first, but they've worked for me.
I've actually landed pike on 4 lb. test and know others that have too. 9 times out of 10 they will cut the leader but for some reason sometimes they don't.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
