It's only mid june and the water level in my pond is only about three feet deep and cloudy. The PS are still on the spawing beds and loving the warm water. I'm worried about my trout and the DO levels.

The well is still providing cold water in cycles, about 700 hundred gallons a day. I'm not sure how long that will last at this point and it can't keep up with the leak and water table.

The trout haven't started crusing the surface yet, but I'm getting concerned. Should I aerate during the day time hours to improve the DO levels? I'm presently only aerating at night when the temps are lower.

Stick with night time running as at your depths your probably not increasing the DO during the daytime as much as you are going to raise the temps to lethal levels.Any plants, plankton or algae should help hold daytime DO levels.Good Luck

Ted,
Thanks for the reply. It's not luck but rain I need, with lots of water.

I hate to post this but, lost several, no more like 10 trout to the recent hot weather. We had rain last night, but it always seems to come a day late.

Sorry to hear that scruffy, looks like more rain tomorrow, but with the whole summer ahead of us it's gonna be tough.
