I haven't had bats yet but I do have a couple of Starlings that nested between the top of my fireplace and the facia board. Boy are they messy!

I'm starting to regret my decision to build a log home. I have a couple of log sections that have partially rotted somehow, and it's once again time to get the ladders out and powerwash and restain. Seems the stain only lasts about 4 years max regardless of the quality.

At least you have a metal roof. I have singles and have replaced three in the last two years.
